Camping

What is Camp?

Camp is eight days away from home in a new environment where you have a chance to make new friends, try out new activities and get exposure to land and water activities. It's an opportunity to enhance your life experience and a fun way of spending part of your summer.

What to bring?

 

Sleeping

  • 1 Sleeping Bag
  • 1 Pillow
  • 1 bed sheet
  • 1 blanket

Health & Personal Hygiene

camperPlease ensure that any medication your child needs, along with instructions is included in their camp gear. All medication is to be given to the Camp Health and Safety Coordinator upon arrival at the camp.

  • Emergency contact information
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Shampoo, soap and toiletries
  • Band-aids (just in case)
  • Bug Spray and Sunblock

Suggested Clothing

Remember it's camp and clothes will get dirty. Campers will not typically be doing laundry while at camp so be sure to take enough clothing.

Who else is going?

hairThere will be a total of 30 girls at each camp session. Campers from communities in the NWT will be grouped into five groups of six according to their age.

Where will I sleep?

While at camp, there will be approximately four to six campers to a cabin.  There will be some overnight trips where campers will stay in tents.
